You can do the following to prevent an engorged or swollen breast:

  • Breastfeed your infant on demand
  • Pump and refrigerate your breast milk for later use if your breast feels swollen and the baby is not ready for nursing.
  • Pump your breast milk if you plan on going out without your baby.
  • Make Weaning Gradual

Don’t allow your baby to play with your breasts.
