Ameda Mya Breast Pump Key Features

Ameda Mya is a beloved product among parents, and for a good reason! Many of its features make pumping extremely convenient. Check out the key features that make this hospital-grade breast pump stand out from others.

Closed system

The Ameda Mya claims to have a perfect closed protection system that prevents breast milk from storing up in the tubes and other wrong places. With the aid of the in-built system barriers, milk that accumulates during a pumping session goes straight into your infant’s feeding bottle.

Power Source

It comes with an internal rechargeable battery/AC adapter that lasts up to two hours between charges, creating enough pumping time during the day for you to plug it in again at night. If necessary, you can always connect to an electrical outlet so that you can recharge between pumping sessions.

Breast Pump Set up

Getting started is simple with a two-minute video from Ameda. The video will walk you through the process of setting up your pump in about 30 seconds after watching it.

Suction Strength

Suction requirements for breastfeeding parents can vary significantly from one another, as everyone is unique. Moreover, every pumping session is unique.

Because of this, the Ameda Mya offers 10 expression modes and 5 levels of massage. When pumping simultaneously on both breasts, you can even vary the pumping level on each.

Although this breast pump looks small, Ameda Mya has a suction capacity of 280Hg mm, which is over enough to allow you to finish pumping promptly and return to your baby and regular daily routine.

Storage Options

The Ameda Mya may or may not come with a way to store the pump and bottles, depending on where you buy them. Your breast pump pack will come with a big tote and freezer-safe storage bottles if you buy from Amazon. However, you do not need anything fancy or brand new to store your Ameda Mya. You can use any tote, diaper bag, or backpack.

Easy to Clean

You don’t have to boil Ameda Mya or intricately disinfect every piece. Rather, the pieces that came into contact with your milk must be rinsed under cool water before washing with soap and warm water, rinsing, and allowing to dry. Because the Ameda Mya claims to have a truly closed system, you won’t have to wash many pieces after each operation because your milk won’t back up. You can even wash large portions of your breast pump in the dishwasher.

Insurance Coverage

Coverage varies according to insurance plans, so Ameda’s simple online form makes it easy to determine if your existing policy covers the pump.

Durability

Ameda does not guarantee the durability of the Ameda Mya, but most of its products come with a one-year warranty, 2-years on the pump motor and 90 days on parts.

Other Features Includes

  • Options for Single or Double Electric Pumping
  • Timer tracks pumping time
  • The breast pump powers down automatically after 30 minutes to save battery.
  • Pump is lightweight and weighs 0.5 pounds, and also fits in your hand comfortably.
